I’m sure by now you’re familiar with show subscription service Shoe Dazzle. If not, it is pretty much cut and dry like the rest of them. They provide a hand-picked selection of shoes just for you each month based on your previously established style preferences. For $39 a month you can pick 1 pair of shoes or you can choose to skip the month without being charged.
After being disappointed in a pair of $60 boots I ordered from DSW I was again on the hunt for new boots. That is when I saw a Facebook Ad promising to send me an amazing pair of boots for $9.99 if I signed up for Shoe Dazzle. It was an offer I couldn’t refuse.
Overall my experience has been fine, the only downside is that you must call in to cancel your subscription. That or remember to skip each month, for eternity. After ordering, I received my boots relatively quickly. I wasn’t extremely impressed with the quality. Both pairs are comparable to shoes found at stores like Charlotte Russe or Forever 21. Not very high quality but cute. These are definitely fast fashion shoes. I doubt they last longer than a season or two with heavy use. Especially if you deal with salt and snow in the winter like we Chicagoans do.
My Picks
Amar Flat Boot, color Black. Over the knee
Out of the two pairs of shoes I ordered, aesthetically, I like these better. The gold hardware and the two-tone look from the ‘leather’ panels give these shoes a lot of character.
Pros:
-I love the gold hardware and detail. These are a great everyday shoe. Easy to dress down for a casual look or to wear to work.
-These boots are available in 3 colors. Navy Blue and olive green.
Cons:
-These shoes are TIGHT. I am generally always a 9. The only time I order a size up is when I buy high heels. These shoes are pretty uncomfortable to be a size 9, the feel more like an 8.5. I would order up a half size if you plan to purchase these and a tight shoe is a no-no for you. I hope we
-The calf is pretty slim. I have small to average size legs and there isn’t much room when I wear skinny jeans with these. On the plus side, I don’t have an awkward gap between my shoes and legs but I can’t gain more than a few pounds in these puppies.
– These are technically over the knee boots but they do not actually extend over my knee. They cover it but that is about it.
KissandraFlat Boot, color Bordeaux, thigh high
Pros:
– Wide calf available. If you are any bigger than me you will need it. They stretch but not very much.
-The foots fit my legs perfectly. I usually have a gap between my skin and the fabric but I don’t have that issue with these boots.
– These boots are available in Black and Navy as well as the wine color pictured.
-The color is vibrant without looking too cheesy. It’s a really great color for fall.
Cons:
-As I mentioned earlier, the leg and thigh area are very tight. I’m 5’4″, 135lbs. I have pretty slim legs but I thought these were tight, especially with jeans.
-The material slouches down around the ankles. You can sort of see this in the picture above. I barely walked around in my house with these and the material was gathering around me ankles. I could barely pull them up because of the tightness so I’m hoping that wearing these with tights will get rid of that.
Final Thoughts… I don’t think I love either of these two boots but I don’t hate them enough to send them back. If these are a typical example of the quality of shoe offered on Shoedazzle.com I think I’d have to pass on getting anymore more. (But I am a little bougie.) Especially since I had issues with the fit of the two I received. It’s really hard to order shoes online and get something you love without a lot of back and forth. I think this will be the last batch of shoes I order from shoe dazzle for a few months. I may come back and try out a different type of shoe, maybe sandals or heels in the spring.
