Before the birth of my second daughter, I purchased this 3 tier craft cart. I used it as an infant care cart during the first 9 or so months of her life. This really proved to be a great purchase because it was a nice convenience when nursing, changing, and diapering my daughter. Part of me though it would be another frivolous Pinterest inspired purchase but, I actually used it daily for almost a year. After I weaned her at 13 months and she became mobile, I used it less and less. For months it has been sitting in a corner in my bedroom collecting dust, but now I have decided to repurpose it!
How to Repurpose a 3 Tier Cart
The cart is still in excellent shape so getting rid of it was not an option. Part of the reason I purchased this is because it can be used for so many things. I’ll show you how others are using this and then we will break down how I am using it.
Bar Cart
I think using these 3 tier carts as a bar cart is probably the most popular use. If you check pinterest you will see a lot of different ways to execute this. Typically, one level will be used for glassware. I’ve seen some really sure stemless wine glasses, margarita glasses and shot glasses amongst the top choices. Another level will be used for your alcohol of choice. Depending on the size of your cart you can hold a few glasses of wine or a few fifths of hard liquor. And finally, the third level will be used for decoration, garnishes and a mixology set. Obviously you can utilize the levels as you please, these are just ideas. I really love when signs like “wine O’clock” or this light up Bar sign are used. You can even find a small letter board to change the message with your mood.
Craft Cart/ Book Cart
If you aren’t into drinking and still want to utilize this for your kids or in their rooms, using this as a craft cart is a great idea. You can easily house crayons, paint, markers, color books and paper in an accessible and mobile way. I’ve also seen these being used to hold books, which gives me flashbacks of elementary school! I really love anything that encourages my kids and myself to sit down and be creative.
Plant Cart
I have always loved plants but the older I have gotten the more I’ve grown to love and appreciate them. Recently I’ve bought more plants (that I’ve somehow managed to keep alive for more than 3 days) and I think it would be amazing to have a cart full of plants. I think this would be a great addition to a patio or a well-lit corner in your home. Plants just add something to the overall vibe of a home or a room. So don’t be surprised if you see this in my pictures one day! Living in the desert, I will do almost anything to add greenery to my home.
Self-Care Cart
This is how I’ve decided to use the cart. The cart I purchased (here) actually comes with a table top surface, so I purchased this to upgrade my cart. I decided to fill the bottom layer with my bath salts, bombs, and bubble baths. This will make them easily accessible for bubble baths and gives them a better place to live other than underneath my bathroom skin. The middle layer has my fragranced lotions and skin treatments that I may need, along with extra razors, cotton balls, and Q-tips. The top layer has candles, flowers, and a spot to hold my phone. I will continue to add things as I need them but right now I’m satisfied with it.
If you are considering buying one of these I would highly suggest it, especially if you are giving birth soon or have recently done so and are looking for a more convenient way to do things. These carts are so versatile that even if one use doesn’t work out, you can just repurpose it again and again!
