Please don’t judge me when I say this, but I never liked tea until about 5 months ago. The reason? Well, I’m still not a sweet tea fan but I thought that sweet tea was the only option! At my big age of 33, I discovered fruit tea, and now I’m obsessed. My mom is the person who put me on the raspberry tea train. After trying it and loving the taste I discovered that this delicious drink has a wide array of health benefits!
In this blog post, we’ll be discussing the benefits of raspberry tea as well as the results I’ve seen so far.

What is Raspberry Tea?
Raspberry tea can either be an herbal or fruit tea. The difference comes down to their ingredients and taste. Raspberry fruit tea is usually sweet and tangy and contains a blend of dried raspberries and other flavoring agents such as hibiscus, rose hips, and other fruit pieces. Herbal raspberry tea often contains raspberry leaves which bring on the many medicinal purposes for the tea. The herbal raspberry leaf tea usually tastes more earthy, but this depends on the blend of herbs used.
Typically, both kinds can be found at your local grocery store or Target.
Health Benefits of Raspberry Tea
Raspberry leaf tea is known for its numerous health benefits, especially for women. Here is a brief summary of the key advantages:
1. Raspberry tea is beneficial to Women’s Health
- Menstrual Relief: Raspberry leaf tea can help alleviate menstrual cramps and regulate menstrual cycles. It contains fragarine, which tones and relaxes the uterine muscles, reducing cramping and heavy bleeding.
- Pregnancy and Labor: Many midwives and herbalists recommend raspberry leaf tea during pregnancy. It is believed to strengthen the uterine muscles, potentially leading to more efficient contractions during labor and reducing the risk of complications. However, it’s crucial to consult with a healthcare provider before consuming it during pregnancy.

2. Raspberry tea is Nutrient-Rich
Raspberry leaves are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins C, E, calcium & magnesium. This tea also contains iron and B vitamins as well! All of these provide a wide array of benefits to your body and overall health.
3. Raspberry leaf tea can improve digestive Health
It has astringent properties that can soothe the digestive tract and reduce diarrhea. It also helps relieve nausea and vomiting.
4. Anti-inflammatory and Antioxidant Properties
The tea contains potent antioxidants, including ellagic acid and flavonoids, which help reduce inflammation and protect against oxidative stress. This can contribute to overall health and potentially lower the risk of chronic diseases.
5. Immune System Support
The high vitamin C content helps bolster the immune system, making it easier for the body to fend off illnesses.
6. Cardiovascular Health
The magnesium and potassium in raspberry leaf tea are beneficial for cardiovascular health. They help regulate blood pressure and ensure proper heart function.
7. Skin Health
The antioxidants and vitamins in raspberry leaf tea promote healthy skin, reducing the signs of aging and improving overall skin tone and texture.
8. Supports Weight Loss
Raspberry leaf tea can be a good addition to a weight loss regimen. Its diuretic properties help reduce water retention, and the nutrients support overall metabolic health.
9. Anti-Microbial Properties
Raspberry leaf tea has mild anti-microbial properties, which can help protect against bacterial and viral infections.
How I use Raspberry tea

During the month, I drink it often but it gets heavy use before and during my menstrual cycle. As I said earlier, I have been using it consistently for a few moon cycles and the results have been consistent. I have found that when I drink at least 1 cup a day during the week of bleeding I cramp less and have a lighter flow. If I drink it daily, and especially if I have more than 1 cup, my cycle will be at least 1-2 days shorter. It really is a miracle drink!
Raspberry tea is great iced or hot. I drink it both ways, depending on how I am feeling. Simply follow the brew instructions on the box and it’ll turn out fine. Try adding lemon juice and a sweetener to improve the flavor if you find it necessary. I prefer sugar cubes to honey, but either is fine.
Since discovering that I do indeed like certain teas, I have hyperfixated on the different varieties of tea and their benefits. I went from not owning a single tea bag to having a cabinet full. Each variety oftea comes with its own set of magical benefits. Here are a few that I have tried and highly recommend
- Green Tea
- Antioxidant properties and metabolic benefits
- Chamomile Tea
- Calming effects and sleep aid
- Peppermint Tea
- Digestive support and relief from headaches
- Ginger Tea
- Anti-inflammatory and nausea relief
Overall, raspberry leaf tea is a nutrient-dense herbal remedy with a range of health benefits, particularly for women’s reproductive health, but it should be used with appropriate caution and professional guidance. Reducing my cramps alone is a blessing but cutting my cycle down by days is even better! My new tea fixation has also given me a reason to thrift beautiful antique tea china. It gets very Bridgerton around here now! Those girls were on to something. I encourage you to give it a try, as well as other teas! Of course, do your research and speak with your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding first. Let me know if you try it!
