Christmas is a magical time in our office. Endless Potlucks, Secret Santa’s and the office favorite, PTO.
To really get our office amped for the holiday season, this year we decided to do a little decorating. What says Christmas cheer more than Ole St. Nick coming down a chimney with a bag of goodies?
Faux Fireplace
Of course the was pintrest inspired, but I used the space and materials I had to make it my own. To create our faux fireplace we covered a portion of the wall with this Faux brick Wallpaper I found on Amazon.com. I had previously purchased this for my daughter’s Sesame Street birthday party and held on to it for no reason at all, so I was happy to be able to use it again.
We made our fireplace pretty tall and wide, to hold all of our paper Christmas stockings, another fun team building activity for the holiday season. On top of this, we made our chimney and put our handmade Santa at the top.
The mantle, fire pit, and flames are made out of cardstock and construction paper. I simply googled a flame cut out and got to cutting!
The garland and glitter string lights are pieces we got from the One Spot at Target. This section of the store always has really great, and cheap, seasonal decorations and office supplies.
Our final product turned out amazing! Be sure to search pintrest for more ideas on faux fireplaces. I saw several examples of 3D fireplaces built from cardboard boxes and covered in faux brick. This would be even more impressive if you have space and time to dedicate.
Happy crafting!
