I’ve recently gained a lot of new followers on my site and social media, so I thought it would be the perfect time to reintroduce myself! My about me page does a great job of telling you my mission as a blogger and what value I hope to provide to you through my platform. What it doesn’t do is tell you a great deal about me and what makes me tick. What better way to do that than playing a little ice breaker called two truths and a lie!

You’ve probably played this at orientation week for a job or perhaps in school. Just in case you haven’t, I’ll break down the game for you. I will write two truths and one lie and you have to guess which is the lie. In-person, the game is a bit easier but in blog form, I’ll just give you the answers at the end!
Two Truths & A Lie
Ready? Set…Find the lie!
Round 1
- My great paternal Grandmother was Ethiopian
- I didn’t have my first kiss until I was 18
- I’ve never owned my own car
Round 2
- I fractured my left pinky doing a clapping push-up
- I have never been out of the country
- My weave caught on fire when I got too close to a lit cigar
Round 3
- I can’t play spades
- I took Ballet in college
- Romantic comedy is my favorite movie genre
Round 4
- I hate sweet potatoes
- I hate mushrooms
- I hate mustard
The results!
Round 1
If you choose A, my grandmother was ethiopean… you were correct, that is a lie in the group!
So yes, I was a bit of a late bloomer. My first kiss didn’t take place until really late in high school, but it was super special. I remember it vividly! And no I have never owned a car. I’ve always had access to one so I never truly needed to make this purchase on my own. I’m not sad about not having a car note either!
Round 2
If you thought my weave catching on fire was the lie… you were wrong! This happened, and we aren’t going to discuss it right now! The lie is B! I have been out of the country once. Hubby and I spent our honeymoon at a nice resort in Jamaica! I hope to be able to travel again soon.
Round 3
If you choose C, you are correct and obviously read my recent post about romantic movies! Shout out to you, you supportive, beautiful friend you! I do watch them on occasion, but horror is my fav! Spades and I do not get along! I have been shown the ropes but I just cannot get the hang of it or the hostile nature of its players. I did take 2 ballet classes in my sophomore year in college. I always wanted to be a ballerina as a kid so I jumped at the opportunity to take this elective. The class was so fun and the instructor told me I was a natural!
Round 4
The lie in this group shocks and amazes my bestie. I am a notoriously picky eater, it’s one of the reasons I can never get mad at my daughter who is the same way. Everyone knows I basically don’t like anything. When I was younger, things need to look, smell & feel correct in order for me to eat them. But I have grown up and my taste buds have matured. It’s true that I hate mustard and sweet potatoes, but me hating mushrooms is false! I actually love them and eat them almost every day!
That’s the end of my little game! Hopefully you feel like you learned something new about me!
Let me know in the comments which round had you the most stumped and which truth surprised you the most! Thank you so much for all of your support. If you want more content like this let your voice be heard!!
What surprises me the most was that you took a ballet class! That group stumped me. Nice challenge!!
My ballerina!
