Process
You may want to dress your toddler in a paint smock or have him/her completely bare. I put down a towel in our work area to protect the floor. To make things easier I put a few drops of each color of paint on a piece of cardboard so I could quickly change brushes and paint colors.I held Baby P’s hand while I painted her fingers and the palm of her hand. The new sensation and the colors helped keep her occupied while I finished. I pressed her hands onto the paper a few times, just to see how she would react to seeing her handprint. I let her explore a little before washing her hands
Step it Up
My craft is pretty basic. Honestly, it’s all I had time for! But you can easily make this a little more involved. You can frame your finished portrait or lose the paper altogether and instead put your little one’s handprints on an oven mitt or a canvas. Feel free to involve the whole family. Mommy and Daddy turkeys will make this Thanksgiving photo even more adorable.
